Immunity, Allergies and Food Intolerances
Clients come to NutriFoods complaining about getting too many colds, not being able to shake them off fast enough or suffering from hayfever or rhinitis. To raise immunity levels, a careful analysis of a client’s diet in the light of his or her activity and stress levels together with an investigation into the client’s digestive system is often needed.
Clients often suspect that they may have some food allergies or intolerances. Symptoms for food allergies tend to be immediate and more severe and include skin reactions such as swelling and itching, diarrhea, coughing or a runny nose and itchy eyes. Symptoms for food intolerances, on the other hand, tend to be less severe and reactions can be delayed. Food intolerances could also be contributing to other complaints such as fatigue or digestive issues. Common intolerances include lactose and wheat intolerances.
Together with the client, NutriFoods aims to identify problematic foods and an appropriate, balanced and healthy exclusion diet is agreed. Often, foods that have been excluded for a while can be re-introduced gradually and in moderate amounts. Laboratory tests are extremely useful in the case of multiple intolerances.
